Shawn is a technology and innovation executive with more than 20 years of experience in bringing data driven strategies to solve client challenges.
He helps clients in the automotive, aerospace, mining and defense sectors with emerging technology strategies and digital engineering, including digital twins, simulation and model-based systems engineering. Shawn started developing and racing autonomous vehicles with DARPA Challenges. Since then, he has supported new product introductions of autonomy, electrification and connectivity technology at large vehicle manufacturers, developed unmanned aerial system (UAS) mapping and package delivery solutions, and advised the US government on federal legislation, regulation and technology acquisition strategies.
Shawn holds a PhD in Systems Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, with a graduate certificate in Policy, and holds an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He has served as an IEEE/AAAS Congressional Science and Technology Fellow, National Science Foundation IGERT Fellow and Summer Fellow at RAND Corporation.
