Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy
Organisations across the globe are facing unprecedented challenges. These challenges, amongst others, include macroeconomic and geopolitical changes, competitor innovation, supply chain risks and changing stakeholder expectations. In Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy (TRS), we help organisations deal with these challenges, making a real difference in a fast-paced environment.
Whether our clients are companies, government organisations, investors, or financial stakeholders and whether they’re a company in distress or simply seeking to build underlying resilience in their business, we work closely alongside them to deliver the financial and organisational outcomes that enable them to adapt and succeed.

How’s it structured?
We want you to get as much as you can from this programme. After an EY induction, you’ll get straight to work on client projects which often involve complex situations, supported by a network of peers. You’ll contribute to these projects, identifying and understanding not only clients’ financial and operational issues but how their business and industry work too.
You’ll learn how to make quick, practical decisions and work through problems decisively. As you progress, you’ll get to do all this with more autonomy and responsibility.
In UK&I you’ll work in project teams on a diverse range of engagements to help companies, creditors and other stakeholders that are facing financial challenges across the whole economic cycle - whether they are buying or selling a distressed asset, restructuring a business, dealing with underperformance, or looking to improve cash management. You’ll also manage tasks relating to the insolvency process, perform financial analysis and report writing, and support with client pitches and industry analysis.
In FS, you’ll work as part of project teams, assisting in the delivery of complex client assignments in the field of operational improvement and Non-Performing Loan (NPL) management, buy-side acquisition, and sell-side disposal work. You’ll be performing analysis of distressed and non-core loan portfolios in addition to reviewing the operational and business models of European lenders. You’ll also have a chance to get involved in thought leadership, project management and the preparing of transaction material, valuation analysis and client communications. You’ll also be part of the team involved in leading the day-to-day work on buy-side due diligence engagements of loan books and servicers.
