Next generation workforce
The Transformative Age will reshape the working world; in an era of automation and never-before-seen challenges, tomorrow’s workers will need to be creative, adaptable, and resilient. EY supports young and underserved groups to foster 21st-century mindsets and transferable skills.
What EY can do for you
In a future defined by careers that don’t yet exist, workers will need more than technical skills. They’ll need the distinctly human qualities that support professional evolution in a rapidly shifting world: the ability to adapt, the desire to constantly learn new things, and the capacity to innovate better answers to complex problems.
As part of the EY Ripples vision to positively impact one billion lives by 2030, EY supports the next generation workforce to help ensure that young and underserved groups are prepared for the working world of the future. We’re seeking out the most innovative approaches to teach transferable skills so that tomorrow’s workers can find and sustain meaningful work amid constant change.
Around the world, EY teams are supporting the next generation through:
Mentoring for the future of work
EY people directly support youth and underserved groups, sharing their knowledge and skills one-on-one or in group mentoring settings. Mentoring programs cover a diverse range of topics including STEM, environmental literacy, job shadowing, entrepreneurialism, and more. We’re working to scale the most promising models on virtual platforms in order to bring EY skills, experience, and guidance to even the most remote corners of society.
Skills development workshops
EY has developed EY Future Skills Workshops — a series of proprietary workshops that dive into topics not typically covered in schools. These workshops are aimed at inspiring students to unlock new passions, explore potential career paths and teach skills needed for the future working world. Led by EY professionals, these half-day sessions are on future-focused topics such as environmental sustainability, emerging technology, civic literacy, financial literacy and more.
EY Future Skills Workshops are taught in a virtual format and are available to students aged 5-18 in more than 50 countries. EY seeks collaborators in the education space in order to rapidly reach more schools and students around the world — if interested, please contact us.
Collaborating with leading nonprofits and companies
In order to scale our efforts and rapidly meet the demands of the Transformative Age, EY forms strong relationships with leading youth-focused organizations at local and global levels, expanding our support and breadth of impact. EY has signed a global agreement with JA Worldwide (Junior Achievement), with many senior EY leaders on JA boards and EY staff leading programs in 26 countries. We are also a member of Alliance for Youth, an alliance of 20 companies that will provide 15 million youth with future job skills by 2022.
