Having joined EY in 2007, Hennie was appointed in November 2018 as Managing Partner of EY’s Africa Advisory business. This unit comprises 65 partners and approximately 1,100 consultants deployed across four main geographic clusters in sub-Saharan Africa.
Before this, Hennie led the Africa Advisory Markets portfolio. He remains part of the Africa, India and Middle East (AIM) Advisory Leadership team, which, with more than 7,000 consultants, is one of the largest emerging market advisory teams in the world.
His focus here is to drive growth in cyber, SAP, and Microsoft solutions.
An engineering graduate, Hennie’s knowledge of the advisory sector, strong appetite for client transformation and innovative go-to-market solutions are well regarded.
How Hennie is building a better working world
Hennie builds a better working world by living with purpose. His vision is to help Africa realise its potential, despite all its challenges.
He recognises that leadership is needed if communities are to uplift themselves and thereby build stronger economies across the continent and the world. Stepping into this leadership gap, Hennie promotes inclusiveness and diversity, and is respectful of input and suggestions from all. His goal is to increase productivity and better position African businesses in these economies. He aims to fuel Africa’s economic growth across the major economic hubs.
Never shy to do the dirty work, Hennie derives great satisfaction from collaborating on creative solutions for society at large, and the disabled community in particular.
