    Tax

Tax affects every aspect of our lives (for example allowing schools, hospitals, banks and insurers to operate) and laws are continuously evolving. We help local and global organisations, from individuals and start-ups to influential multinationals companies, manage every element of their tax affairs and tax risk policies. Tax also places a key focus on sustainability - accelerating our client’s sustainability strategy and building long-term value.

    Technology in Tax

A continuous focus on innovation in tax has transformed the way we support businesses – working collaboratively with clients and using agile methods to develop tailored solutions, faster than ever before.

Our integrated team of technologists and tax professionals bring fresh perspectives to longstanding operational problems facing Tax. We work with businesses of all sizes to develop innovative approaches that transform their Tax functions and use of technology.

    What will you be doing?

    • Understanding clients, their operations and challenges
    • Researching tax concepts and laws and new client profiles
    • Supporting your team on client projects, using EY tools to solve business problems
    • Meeting with clients, mentors, coaches and innovative EY tax teams
    • Learning about EY and our Tax offering
    • Working towards a potential graduate opportunity after university
    • Are you eligible to apply?

If you’re in your penultimate year at university, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.

Join a supportive and inclusive culture, build your strengths and develop new business skills. Working on client projects, gain insight into our service offerings and become an integral part of our team, and if all goes well, you could join one of our graduate programmes once you've finished university. We're proud to have won awards for being one of the best companies to work for.

    How’s it structured?

As an intern, you'll be able to gain insight into the working life of a Tax professional in a place where there is wide range of opportunities to learn and grow, in a workplace that is dynamic, exciting, and supportive.

Whether you're based in UK & Ireland or Financial Services, you'll be completely immersed in the world of work at EY. You’ll start developing an understanding of tax legislation and will soon be ready to work alongside graduates on real client projects and build technical skills.

Once you join, you'll be part of a full EY induction where you will meet other interns and become part of a supportive commmunity. This will help you build your professional network and understand the wider opportunities available to you.
