What is Indirect Tax?
Indirect Tax teams work with clients that trade goods or services nationally and internationally. You'll advise on how indirect taxes such as goods & services tax (GST) impact your clients' operations, their supply chain (global trade/customs duties), and how complex indirect taxes are managed within clients financial and accounting systems.
As a part of the team, you'll help identify and address areas of risk, develop solutions including technology to enhance client’s visibility over their operations and data including how these solutions can improve your clients’ processes and financial outcomes. Working in Indirect Tax, you'll gain wide-ranging experience across different industries, have opportunities to work internationally and receive the support you need to become an effective tax professional.
Your career journey in Indirect Tax
As a graduate, you’ll be part of our 12-month graduate development programme that has been developed for graduates in all service lines, and is focused on connection, learning and celebration.
The programme will provide you with the opportunity to network with your peers from other service lines and geographies. Running in parallel to your technical learning, you will develop leadership skills to become a successful graduate, and as you grow as a transformative leader.
As an Indirect Tax graduate, you’ll take part in:-
- Dedicated tax technology training sessions, including hands on experience
- Regular tax technical training including various lunch and learn programmes
- Immerse yourself in client conversations and be curious as to the “why”
- Client projects using the skills developed – including international and national clients
As a intern, after our company induction, you’ll start developing an understanding of how our Indirect Tax teams work and will be ready to work alongside teams on real client projects. You’ll meet other new interns from your office.
Your buddy and your counsellor will help you learn your way around the organisation, set your goals and plan your development while you’re here. You'll be well looked after with ongoing learning throughout the Intern Programme with sessions facilitated by our Learning and Development team, Campus Recruitment team and service line specific training. The Intern Programme is a great way to gain valuable audit experience, skills and networks to start building your career.
