In our Financial Services Tax team, you’ll help create and implement solutions that help financial services organisations reduce tax and commercial risk and meet their tax and other obligations whilst building your career.
What is Financial Services Tax?
The Financial Services Tax team deliver the following specialist sub-service line expertise exclusively to financial services clients that include leading superannuation funds, investment managers, banks, insurers, private equity firms and fintechs.
What you will do depends on the team you join. For example, in our FSO Global Compliance & Reporting team, you will be responsible for preparing or reviewing tax returns and providing tax advice to clients. In Transactions, you will be part of a team advising on the tax consequences of major transactions in the financial services industry.

All graduates will work as part of a team to create and implement solutions that help financial services organisations reduce tax and commercial risk and meet their tax and other obligations.
Your career journey in Financial Services Tax
As a graduate, you’ll be part of our 12-month graduate development programme that has been developed for graduates in all service lines, and is focused on connection, learning and celebration.
The programme will provide you with the opportunity to network with your peers from other service lines and geographies. Running in parallel to your technical learning, you will develop leadership skills to become a successful graduate, and as you grow as a transformative leader.
As a Financial Services Tax graduate, you’ll take part in:
- the broader graduate training programme offered by EY
- specialised financial services tax and law training
- learning from first-hand experiences of many of the leading advisors in the industry
- learning through our EY Badges program, as well as undertake further study through the CA Program or masters.
As an intern, after our company induction, you’ll start developing an understanding of how our Financial Services Tax teams work and will be ready to work alongside teams on real client projects. You’ll meet other new interns from your office.
Your buddy and your counsellor will help you learn your way around the organisation, set your goals and plan your development while you’re here. You'll be well looked after with ongoing learning throughout the Internship Programme with sessions facilitated by our Learning and Development team, Campus Recruitment team and service line specific training. The Internship Programme is a great way to gain valuable audit experience, skills and networks to start building your career.
