As EY Africa Technology Consulting Leader, Ashwin is responsible for Cyber, Technology Risk, Digital, Data and Analytics, ERP, and IT Transformation.
He is also currently Digital Leader for Assurance, Tax and Consulting, and serves on the Executive Committees of these service lines.
Ashwin established the EY Africa IT Consulting business. Before joining EY, he was CIO at a major African bank and ERP country leader at a big management consultancy.
With over 30 years of experience in management consulting and line management functions within the Financial Services sector, Ashwin’s successes include transforming IT teams into high-performance units and delivering large-scale multi-continent IT projects.
Ashwin is often consulted on matters relating to fintech, blockchain and digital enablement across all industries. He has served on the Board of the African SAP User Group and is a member of the Institute of IT Professionals of South Africa (IITPSA).
How Ashwin is building a better working world
Ashwin led the digital technology solution build for an education benefit solution. The project positively impacts thousands of beneficiaries in South Africa by enabling them to utilise their government-granted education benefit to increase their take-home pay. This directly advances South Africa’s upliftment agenda.
