Yuen is multiple award-winning for her works in entrepreneurship, social activism, media and content-building. She was instrumental in the framework and execution to close the competitive gap of traditional mom-and-pop stores and modern trade during the Economic Transformation Program of the small traditional retailers. To date, she continues to be heavily involved in community building for social purpose organisations in the arts, culture, blended learning, access to technology and sustainability. Yuen is also driving the agenda of city-liveability and commercialising placemaking initiatives to increase productivity and has mentored more than 100 new businesses and start-ups while passionately running the 22-year-old Persatuan Kakiseni that champions the arts and its advocacy; as well as the 10-year-old WOMENgirls, an NGO dedicated to remind women as role models to younger girls to achieve their potentials.
In Oct 2021, Yuen released the acclaimed social film on humanity called Orang Itu onto Netflix - this film is named the top 5 must watch Malaysian film and it scored a 10/10 from film critic, Tan Sri Johan Jaafar in The Star, calling it “one of the best things that has happened to Malaysian cinema of late”. Orang Itu stars Datin Sofia Jane, Carmen Soo, KK Wong, Namron and Tony Eusoff.
Yuen also sits as an independent director contributing to 2 public listed companies; GDEX Berhad, a logistic and freight company and OCK Group Berhad, a regional business in telecommunications network services and renewable energy.
