Dr. Tan Hui Ling

Dr. Tan Hui Ling, Managing Director of Bagan Specialist Centre, took over the hospital business in 2014 and is continuing to fulfill its mission of providing caring and affordable value-based quality healthcare.

Established in 1988 as the first private hospital on mainland Penang, Bagan Specialist Centre sees to the unmet healthcare needs of the people. It recently underwent major renovation and expansion work to become a one-stop multidisciplinary, comprehensive tertiary hospital with a 330-bed capacity.

Dr. Tan is building a better world by providing better access to affordable, value-based, patient-centric care to the local community. Dr. Tan believes care starts with prevention; hence, the hospital actively promotes good health by creating awareness and offering educational programs to the public. It also offers postnatal confinement care, as well as elderly day care and home nursing. Bagan Specialist Centre has a very active voluntary senior citizen’s club called the JOY (Just Older Youth) Club, that aims to promote active aging. As part of its CSR efforts, Bagan Specialist Centre has also established a GIM Palliative Radiotherapy Fund for terminally ill cancer patients who need financial assistance.
