With a core focus on restructuring, Suwin’s clients include UK clearing banks, distressed funds and multinationals. She also manages the EY Global Restructuring Tax Network and advises on a number of cross-border restructurings.
Suwin is also the Global Solutions Leader for post-deal services, a new initiative EY launched in 2018 to assist clients with the tax implications of portfolio transformation so that they are maximizing value in their portfolios post-transaction through tax. Portfolio transformation is a key interest for clients in the current market, so this is an exciting new focus for EY Tax.
Suwin started her career working in tax in 1996 in Australia, predominately in the mining sector for global clients. EY presented her an opportunity to build on her commercial experience, developing the restructuring tax services from its early stages to thriving businesses.
She is actively involved with the EY Women’s Network in addition to the Black and Minority Ethnic Group.
Suwin earned a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law from The University of Queensland.
How Suwin is building a better working world
“I have led the tax advice on complex and high-profile insolvencies and assisted in a number of turnarounds where businesses have been restructured. In addition, I work with private equity houses and credit funds. Frequently, I visit China and am responsible for bringing together the right teams to assist Chinese and UK clients who invest or trade cross-border. I am helping clients to realize the value of their portfolios through my work on post-deal services. I am a member of the Tate Members Council and have a significant interest in art and artists from developing markets.”
