James specialises in advising clients with a deficit in their UK defined benefit pension scheme. This includes advice on the strength of employer covenants, the impact of corporate transactions and restructurings and providing support during negotiations.
He holds a range of recurring pension trustee and corporate appointments. These stretch across some of the largest and most high-profile pension schemes in the UK as well as a breadth of industries, but with a particular focus on financial services and private equity.
James has a varied background including some time in audit, corporate finance and insolvency. Since the UK pensions Regulator was created in 2005, James has specialised in Pensions Advisory.
