EY has announced a further expansion of its UK Law practice, with the appointment of two new Partners.
Anup Kollanethu, joins EY Law as Partner and UKI Head of Legal Managed Services. Dimitri Papaefstratiou joins as a Partner and further bolsters EY Law’s new UK Energy team, which has seen a number of appointments this summer.
Anup has twenty years’ experience in the legal and professional services sector, including roles at Aviva Investors, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and DWF.
Anup will be a key part of EY’s growing Legal Managed Services capabilities and his appointment follows a number of recent EY investments, including the 2018 acquisition of Riverview Law and the 2019 acquisition of Pangea3 Legal Managed Services.

Anup adds: “Prior to joining Phil and the team, I’ve been fortunate to work on EY’s Global Law strategy over the last three months. I am excited about the opportunity to grow the EY Law proposition, especially given our investments to date in legal managed services.”
Dimitri Papaefstratiou has spent the previous eight years as a Partner of DLA Piper where he was the Location Head of the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team in London. Dimitri is recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ by Legal 500 for Power (including renewables) and Oil & Gas. Dimitri acts for major corporations, sponsors, lenders and procuring authorities on major energy and infrastructure projects across EMEA. He has developed a market-leading energy and infrastructure practice, including numerous greenfield project financings, single asset and portfolio acquisitions, and investments in highly structured and complex projects.
Dimitri’s appointment follows the arrivals at EY Law’s Energy team of Charles Morrison, who leads the Energy team, as a Partner in May and Simon Collier as an Associate Partner in June. Also joining the team this month are two directors – Harry Brunt and Joseph Lam – who have a combined 40 years’ experience of complex energy and infrastructure projects.

The EY Law Energy team provides support to clients in the UK and globally, working with other EY teams and practice areas which provide support to the energy sector, as part of EY’s integrated, multidisciplinary approach. The creation of an Energy team within the UK Law practice has added to the team’s existing sector specialisms in Financial Services and technology.
Both Dimitri and Anup take up their new roles on 17 August.
