Playing the waiting game and operating as a sub-contractor was always part of the master plan for Michael Patel, and it has paid off. It enabled him to have great learning and experience in developing systems, processes and capabilities.
Michael’s game changer has been to offer tailor-made innovative, affordable, and sustainable solutions to the clean water, wastewater and gas infrastructure industries, something that has traditionally not been done by other large contractors.
As a person of ethnicity, I have first-hand experience in trying to make my way in business. And this has reinforced my philosophy to increase diversity and inclusivity: to give everyone an opportunity, irrespective of ethnicity, gender or disability. We operate with a workforce that represents a cross-section of society.
