Gary has over 20 years’ experience supporting the growth of UK-focused travel businesses and is the former CEO of Forest Holidays. Over the years, Gary has transformed many different businesses; from sports and leisure facilities, hotels and golf courses as well as property development.
He currently is a non-executive chairman for Aquavista, after successfully supporting both AwayResorts and Pure Cottages Group with private equity backing. Gary played an active role in the development and growth of these businesses on a strategic level.
Born in Staffordshire, Gary’s earliest ambition was to be a professional football player, but that didn’t transpire, so instead he travelled the world for several years. - This experience led him to become resourceful, fostered perseverance and open-mindedness and sparked a real passion for business in the travel sector and beyond, which has served him well since.
