Tiarnan O’Rourke is a Partner in our Assurance practice.
Tiarnan specialises in providing assurance services to international and Irish insurance and financial services clients. He has extensive knowledge of the market having worked with Life, Non-Life, Reinsurance and Captive insurance clients.
Tiarnan has over 15 years of experience of auditing insurance companies as well as an in-depth knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory and market issues.
In particular, he has considerable expertise with acquisitions and disposals, gap analysis, group restructuring, regulatory matters, internal control and IFRS, US GAAP and Solvency II reporting.
Tiarnan is supporting clients on their IFRS 17 & 9 journey. He is a member of the European IFRS 17 Working Group in EY and leads out on IFRS 17 locally. Increasingly, he is assisting clients with the Climate Change and Sustainability Agenda – in particular, future non-GAAP reporting implications for insurers.
Tiarnan is also well versed in Aviation Finance having over 7 years of experience with the industry which includes auditing Leasing clients as well as holding a senior finance and compliance role within a Top 10 Lessor.
In a personal capacity, Tiarnan is a member of the Board of Amnesty International Ireland since 2020 and has a passion for promoting equality of opportunity and basic human rights.
Tiarnan holds a First Class Honours degree in Economics from UCD including having received two scholarship awards and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
