What is Strategy and Transactions at EY?
Strategy and Transactions (SaT) is a particularly exciting job of advising clients on when and how to buy, sell or merge companies in order to improve growth, competitiveness and profitability. Strategy and Transactions supplies the data, highlights the risk and guides the client through the potentially perilous forest of capital transactions. If you’re a strategic thinker, thirsty for knowledge, and insatiably curious, we want you to apply for the internship in Strategy and Transactions.
Choosing your internship
When submitting your application form, you may submit a preference for the types of clients you would like to work with during your graduate programme, if you wish. We have two areas of our business which focus on different clients and industries.
Non-Financial Services Clients: Industrial, Commercial & Technology (ICT) Clients including Automotive & Transportation, Government & Public Sector, Health & Life Sciences, Mining & Metals, Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction, Technology, Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment.
Financial Services (FS) Financial Services clients: Asset Management, Banking and Insurance, Investment Services, Financial Services Industry, Foreign Exchange.
No preference: If you are open to any client group or industry, then that is no problem! Please select "no preference" when submitting your graduate application.
Selecting a preferred team: If you have an interest in a specific sub-team within Tax, please read on below to discover the areas you can join. If you spot a team that peaks your interest, please submit your preference via your graduate application. This is not mandatory, and you are more than welcome to submit your application without a team preference if you wish.

Our Strategy and Transactions Teams:
Government & Infrastructure
G&I work with government departments, public sector bodies and private clients to assist them in identifying opportunities as well as providing advice on economic feasibility, policy analysis, and financial and commercial strategy. We also provide procurement advisory services for large scale infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships.
Lead Advisory
The Lead Advisory team provides strategic and financial advice to business owners and shareholders. They advise on all steps of a business’ strategic life cycle, including fundraising, strategic advice, disposals, acquisitions, management buy-outs/buy-ins and succession planning.
Restructuring
The Restructuring team provide services aimed at assisting under-performing clients to achieve a strategic turnaround. Working with corporates, stakeholders or lenders, we establish and help implement key financial and organisational solutions to enable them to adapt to changing economic conditions.
Transaction Support
Transaction Support involves the provision of financial due diligence services for our clients who are considering either acquiring a business (buy-side or pre-acquisition due diligence) or selling all or part of their business (sell-side or vendor due diligence).
Valuations, Modelling and Economics
The team analyse businesses and their underlying assets, ranging from intellectual property, complex financial instruments and real/fixed assets. We provide transformative insights to convert complex situations into opportunities for growth and ultimately a competitive advantage.
EY-Parthenon
We are seeking outstanding interns to help us accelerate our position in the market and support the development of a new proposition and fast growing team. In Ireland, we will focus on sectors such as Consumer Goods & Retail, TMT, Power & Utilities, Government, Health & Life Sciences, Aircraft Leasing, Fintech and the area of Sustainability. We advise clients on a vast range of issues, such as core value proposition, competitive positioning, and growth strategy.
