Australia
Capt. Jan Becker is the CEO of Becker Helicopters Pilot Academy, which offers accredited, fully customizable flight training solutions for allied defence and paramilitary clients. It all started in an old shed on the Sunshine Coast, a 1961 Bell 47 Helicopter, and a dream. That inspiration drove the company to become the largest Helicopter Flight Academy in the Southern Hemisphere. Offering innovative Advanced Night Vision Goggles Training, it has procured multi-million dollar global contracts.
Jan is also the founder of Midwife Vision. Jan chooses to volunteer every year as a Midwife in one of Tanzania’s busiest labour wards, which delivers up to 100 babies a day. She plans to complete her PhD in Neonatal Resuscitation as a Master Trainer in “Helping Babies Breathe” program, assisting Tanzania towards achieving its UN Sustainable Millennium Goals.
Jan has been recognized by numerous honors including the 2014 Telstra Business Women’s Queensland Business Owner Award, and the 2013 Telstra Australian Medium Business Award.
Her company’s strategic vision is to grow the company to 200 staff and create global training teams and global training partners for the Global Initial Entry Rotary Wing Flight Training for Allied Military Forces.
“Lead by example in the boardroom and with the team. Be Visionary and audacious, but not only in business, in your personal life also. Take people with you on the journey of both success and failure. Engage in your companies “tomorrow” not just today by exploring new revenue streams and driving innovation.” Jan Becker, CEO of Becker Helicopters Pilot Academy.
