Mikko Äijälä is the Managing Partner at EY Finland and the head of Nordic Strategy and Transactions. Mikko joined EY in 2004 and is based in the EY Helsinki office in Finland.
Mikko has a master’s degree in Accounting from the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration. Before joining EY, Mikko worked in the transaction advisory team of KPMG. He has also held the positions of controller at Raisio Oyj and CFO at Turku Science Park Group.
Mikko has an extensive experience of around 20 years on both domestic and foreign transaction advisory.
How Mikko is building a better working world
As a Managing Partner at EY Finland and Nordic Strategy and Transactions, Mikko has been promoting Diversity & Inclusiveness as well as work life balance among other valuable topics. With Mikko’s lead EY Finland was the official sponsor for Pride Helsinki 2019. Also, Mikko has established a co-operation with a coaching firm in order to reach a high-performing team through better feeling individuals. EY Finland is also a partner for Hope Ry, a registered association helping out the underprivileged families and children in Finland – through volunteering at work program, professionals may use 15 h/ fiscal for volunteering work either with Hope or some other voluntary service of general interest.
