He achieved a Master’s in Chemical Engineering (University of Gent) and Management Consultancy (Erasmus University, Rotterdam), followed by a post-graduate Corporate Finance course at the Catholic University in Leuven. “How can we earn money when the energy sources of the future will be almost free? This question is of great concern for the energy sector. Worldwide. I assist in this transition based on the “yardstick” of the 3Ds: decentralized, digital and decarbonized. I give the parties a wake-up call too. Not with worst-case scenarios, but important questions. Do you understand what you’re facing? What do you need to do? And how can you turn the threats into opportunities?”
How Thierry is building a better working world
“Energy transition is the most important change for our planet. That’s why I’m truly passionate about this. But technology and innovation can help us, I’m sure of that. Blockchain, artificial intelligence, robotics, augmented reality.... Just look at the exchange of generated power between neighbors, via blockchain. And as soon as the consumer embraces new solutions, the market moves with it. You can see this in the case of electric cars, and the same has happened in other fields too.”
