“New technologies offer huge opportunities for auditing. Data analytics, process mining, artificial intelligence... We used to do spot checks, but thanks to technology we have access to all the data. That gives us the best, most complete picture of the organization. But how do you get these new technologies to work for you? That’s the dilemma we’re all facing, accountants and clients alike. This is a fascinating watershed in our profession that calls for close cooperation.”
How Patrick is building a better working world
“What I like best about my work? Working with clients and our team. We learn from each other and improve a little every day. I believe in doing by learning. You don’t go from being a high-school student to a professional athlete overnight. No, you hit the courts every day and keep practicing, over and over again. It’s not an easy journey, but it certainly works. That’s the only way we can become masters at digital auditing.”
