Errol Scholten helps private and public organizations make investments in large infrastructure projects. This means distribution networks, solar parks, toll roads, biomass centers, wind farms, airports and terminals.
He studied Technical Business Administration at Twente University and has been working at EY since 2015. Prior to this, he worked at a large Dutch construction company and an investment bank. In addition to his work at EY, he is a council member of the Dutch section of the International Project Finance Association (IPFA).
“These types of projects are often time-consuming, and it’s a small world. Many parties know each other, but also need one another. That’s why I consciously invest in good cooperation and see the issues from each stakeholder’s perspective. From investors, financiers, entrepreneurs to government bodies. I make a connection between these worlds.”
How Errol is building a better working world
“Finance can be quite abstract, but these projects are actually really tangible. And socially functional. It’s a good feeling when, following an intensive project - from the business case, to financing, to execution - there’s a functioning factory, school or solar park.”
