As Payroll Operate leader Christa Jongejan assists (international) organizations in being fully compliant, both in the Netherlands and beyond. She is also a highly trusted business advisor for SMBs.
She started at EY in 1999, beginning her accountancy studies at the same time. She returned to EY in 2015, having acquired a great deal of experience in international compliance and global payroll at other companies.
“I enjoy helping my clients to develop further and grow. I don’t want them to just think: EY takes care of my obligations, rather they should see us as a wide-ranging sparring partner. So I make sure to listen carefully, set out complex issues clearly, offer practical solutions, and gain similar experiences. Whether that’s for large, international organizations that want to know how Dutch legislation fits together. Or SMBs that want to gain an insight into their growth options, and all the associated regulations.”
How Christa is building a better working world
“What’s the best thing about my job? That I’m still learning every day and can use my knowledge to support so many different organizations, from an American chocolate factory to a small pension fund. But we’re also intensely involved with startups. We assist them in making the right choices so that they can grow in the future. It’s a great thing to be involved in.”
